PMC PLAYS THE DEPARTMENT OF MUSIC

Celebrating 35 years at the heart of music

For 35 years, PMC loudspeakers have helped recording engineers, producers and artists hear exactly what is happening in the studio.

To celebrate our anniversary, we are creating a series of special events exploring PMC’s history at the epicentre of music production—and giving music lovers the opportunity to experience some remarkable recordings for themselves.

At the recent High End show in Vienna, we built a fully working recording studio and invited leading engineers, artists and mastering specialists to reveal the stories behind the music.

HiFi Pig also presented PMC with its Golden PiG Award for the overall Vienna experience. 

Now we’re bringing the music to West Sussex

On Friday 31 July and Saturday 1 August, PMC will be joining The Department of Music for two days of specially curated listening sessions.

Across three demonstration rooms, we will play a selection of recordings with genuine connections to PMC—music recorded, mixed or mastered using PMC studio monitors, and chosen to demonstrate the emotion, detail and scale contained within the original production.

Visitors will be able to hear:

PMC IB2 SE studio monitors
Driven by Bryston 7B amplifiers and a Bryston BR-20 preamplifier

PMC prophecy1, prophecy7 and prophecy9
Presented with selected electronics from Naim, Hegel and Linn

The IB2 SE brings PMC’s professional studio heritage directly into the listening room, while the prophecy range demonstrates how the same engineering principles can reveal more music in a domestic environment.
